Adirondack Hikes

Rugged terrain, serene wilderness – with renowned views atop New York’s tallest mountains. Far from ordinary – and close to otherworldly.

Keene, New York

Hike Overview

After meeting at the rendezvous point before the hike, we’ll proceed to the trailhead and begin a quick introduction and gear check before taking to the trails. A hike in the Adirondacks require an early start – so we’ll aim to get on the trail no later than 8am. It is highly recommended that you either arrive in the area the night before, or camp out – as it can often take longer than expected traveling into the Adirondacks.

Whether we’re hiking to a summit in the High Peaks Region, or sticking to something in the lower regions – you’re in for a rugged and strenuous experience. Unlike many other areas in the country, the Adirondacks don’t have many switchbacks – and so we’re often hiking up rock scrambles, small waterfalls, slick rock faces, and swamped areas of trail. But, the juice is worth the squeeze, as they say – because in doing so, we’ll be rewarded with some of the most stunning views in the eastern United States – and you’ll be taking homes countless pictures of the adventure too.

Depending on which trail we do, distances can range from 6-8 miles on the short end, and as long as 20 miles for some of the High Peaks. You can almost always expect to get dirty in the ‘Daks’ as well – the mud is often relentless!
